Hallooo, everyone~~ : >!

Well, now.
Lately there've been a lot of people telling me that they're "no good" in art. And that "talent" is just something you're magically born with and since they weren't "born" with it, they are incapable of being as good of an artist.

*Ehhh!* Wrong! *imitating Aladdin's Genie* XDD

DON'T YOU EVER SAY THAT YOU ARE NO GOOD AT ART.

DON'T YOU EVER SAY THAT YOU'RE NOT "TALENTED" ENOUGH.

The skills of art can be learned. That's what I'm trying to say by submitting this. EVERYone has to start somewhere. Just practice, practice, practice!!! There's no easy way around it. There's no "how-to-draw" book that will magically make you understand everything there is to know in art, overnight. Just work your butt off and you can do great things. : ]

Good thing my mom found this at, like, the perfect time.
As you can see, this is an olddd comic/story that I did way back in 1998. I was totally not born how I am today. I don't think you should ever be wholly, completely satisfied in your art anyways. Always strive for improvement, to always get better.

I call "talent" a genetic disposition which might make it *easier* to learn certain things about art (or any kind of 'art' (the art of writing, the art of math; the art of music, etc.), but without it, I don't think it's totally IMPOSSIBLE for you to get better, or as good as the next guy. It just might take you longer to "get it" that's all.

DON'T GIVE UP!!
HAVE SOME CONFIDENCE!!

After all, you're the best you that's come around yet~ C: C:

I hope you enjoy this whacked out story, which I call, "The Magic School Bus: 10 Years Later". :w00t: I worked my best at it, back in the day. You know, continuously comparing yourself to others who have OBVIOUSLY had much more time to practice and such is just being unfair to you. Give yourself a chance, for cryin' out loud. Sometimes you can't "learn" art by just everyday observance. Sometimes you've really gotta STUDYSTUDYSTUDY and force yoruself to sit down and LEARN.
Frustration is okay; it's totally okay. (Almost even expected.) Just don't give up! That is *not* okay. ):^T

Well, long description, but :XD: I hope you can understand what I mean. As I said before, I hope you enjoy this whacked out-comic of mine C: Venture inside the awesomely-weird mind of a 12-year-old Gena, LOLL :lmao:

There's 33 pages to this :B (not including this one, which is page zero XD). LOL, I made a song to the Magic School Bus' theme song. I should type it out for the next page. XDDD  I never finished the story, btw, but that's all right, LOL  Just be warned when it ends weirdly XDD.

Whoa! I remember The Magic School Bus! ...Is it sad that I probably only saw it again on TV a couple of years ago? I remember episodes and everything! I was talking to my sister about this show, just the other day.

But that's beside the point. You're right. Natural talent is only someone who is naturally able to easily learn things. I'm not NATURALLY a wonderful artist. I worked at it for years, and years. I wouldn't say I suck (I do suck at drawing humans. :iconzebraraine: was my account until today, and I drew animals mostly), but I won't say I'm awesome, either. Always striving to better yourself as an artist is exactly what we ought to be doing. Good words.
